The airtouch highlighting technique is unique in that it uses air from the hairdryer instead of traditional combing to seperate the highlighted sections of hair. Airtouch gives a more universal and natural look and gives the stylist the opportunity to take the blonde as close to the root as possible while maintaining a soft color transition. Thanks to airtouch, the client does not feel any discomfort, as with the classic method when using a tailcomb on the hair.
The downside to airtouch is that it takes more time depending on the client’s wishes, length and thickness as compared to traditional highlighting or balayabe techniques, which is why the cost is higher. Further airtouch services or maintanence can be done once every six months or even once a year because the transition is very soft, although it all depends on the contrast of your natural color and the amount of blonde you want.
