Claire James-Dupain, educated at Paris’s MJM and the École du Louvre, emerged from a fifteen-year career as a film set designer to pursue a personal artistic path beginning in 2012. Drawing deeply from iconography, she reinterprets feminine archetypes—the mother, the goddess, the shaman, the witch—within a dreamlike universe shaped in response to the fractures of the contemporary world, where her paintings function as portals of fantasy, resilience, and quiet power. Bridging her practices as both painter and musician, her work unfolds as a contemplative meditation on humanity’s relationship with women and nature, seeking to re-enchant the feminine spirit.
